With Christmas over with, me and my family made our way to Scotland for my aunties wedding, in the historical romantic village of Gretna Green. We stayed at the Greens at Gretna Hotel, where the wedding celebrations were hosted and the ceremony took place at the old traditional Blacksmith shop nearby. We stayed in Scotland for 3 days and had a lovely time, it was different to any wedding I had been too before so it was a nice change, and it was also my first time going to Scotland so it was great fun.

My friends and family are all pretty crafty people, so we all created some vintage and homemade style items for the special day. Firstly the wedding cake was made by a friend, they wanted it to be plain so it could be decorated with ivory roses and a silver embellished trim which worked out well and it tasted great too. The bird cage favour boxes were brought from eBay, we put a mixture of Lidt chocolate inside and finished them off with a bow. The pearl and flower hair accessories originally came off a head band, but we cut away the metal and turned it into a hair clip to wear on one side.

The wedding was intimate with only 16 close family and friends, so when we all got back from Scotland my auntie had a bigger celebration with over 150 guests, so we all spent the day before making homemade cupcakes for everyone in lots of different flavours. The wedding dress was from Monsoon, it looked beautiful. When my time comes I will definitely have a look at their Bridal department first. My dream dress would be something like what Kate Moss wore for her wedding day.
