Healthy Breakfast Inspiration | Porridge with Almonds and Coconut

I have been having porridge for my breakfast since my college days, I have always had it with dark chocolate drops and desiccated coconut. The last ten months or so I have been adding more and more toppings onto my breakfast, after searching for healthy food benefits I have since introduced lots more fruity toppings and added them to my diet by simply sprinkling them onto my morning porridge.

Four tablespoons of rolled porridge oats
150ml of Alpro Soya Milk, or Hazelnut if I choose not to have a chocolate topping 

Tablespoon of toppings:
Dark chocolate drops
Desiccated coconut
Almonds
Sultanas
Cranberries
Apricots
Prunes

Coconut, almonds and cranberries are my favourite toppings out of them all, desiccated coconut is full of iron and fibre which is good for brain function, almonds contain vitamin E, copper, magnesium, protein and minerals. Cranberries are also another 'super food' and are high in nutrients and antioxidants. Porridge with fruity toppings is a great way to start the day, as it keeps you fuller for longer and gives you lots of energy, which is definitely what I need when I have a full day of university, gym and work.
